St. Augustine

Updated: Aug 4, 2019

We only had 3 hours in St. Augustine and it did turn out to be enough time to see the whole town. St. Augustine was originally colonised by the Spanish and is America’s oldest town. The historic centre is small and easy to walk around in a few hours. The town is full of quaint old buildings and Spanish churches. The place is as busy and bustling in the evening and night as it is during the day. The main streets are full of independent shops, museums, art studios and confectionary shops. At the waterfront there is a huge Spanish fort. I would definitely recommend St. Augustine for a half day and a great place to stop en route from Miami to Savannah.
