One of my passions in life is consuming ice cream. This is a list compiled of all the ice cream I have tried on the east coast of America.
Miami
AZUCAR, little Havana
Rating 10/10
This local ice cream shop in Little Havana was one of the made attractions in the area. The shop was in a Cuban style and the ice cream flavours were inspired by the owners roots.
Dasher and Crank, Wynwood
Rating 8/10
Very friendly service and big on tasting; they use metal spoons for the tasting to reduce waste. The ice cream was really good and the seating area was quirky.
Savannah
River Street Sweets, River Street
Rating 7/10
Found this place a bit touristy and lacked the authenticity that Leopolds had.
Savannah
Leopolds, Broughton Street
Rating 11/10
Flavours: Savannah Socialite, Honey and Almond
Leopolds was our favourite ice cream spot in Savannah. The flavours were really delicious and the ice cream felt like it was made with high quality ingredients. The queue was out the door. The staff were also really friendly and nice; they handed out water in the queue and they saw we were struggling with the heatwave and came and gave us extra water.
Wilmongton
Kilwin’s, Market Street
Rating 9/10
Flavours: Fudgy Brownie, Maple Walnut
This place also had a huge queue out the door but the queue moved very quickly and the staff were very efficient and friendly inside. There was lots to look at in the queue as staff were making homemade fudge and waffle cones in the windows as well as offering free fudge samples once inside the shop. The ice cream was really tasty and the homemade waffle cones were really good. The setting of this ice cream parlour was also lovely as you could head down to the waterfront with your ice cream to watch the sunset.
New York
Ice Cream Van, Williamsburg Domino Park NY
Rating 7/10
Flavour: Chocolate Fudge Sunday
I would recommend the ice cream vans as they are a lot cheaper than the shops in New York and as much as the ice cream will not be the best quality it’s actually quite nice.
New York
Davey’s Ice Cream, Bedford Ave Williamsburg NY
Rating 5/10
Really mediocre scoop of chocolate.
Small serving and expensive.
New York
Pinkberry, Park Slope
Rating 7/10
Pinkberry is a well known frozen yoghurt chain in America. The frozen yoghurt is good and the toppings are an added plus. It’s obviously not the most exciting choice but when I was desperate for an ice cream in the NY heat it was a good safe choice. Downside is that it’s expensive with a small costing over $8.
Charlottesville
Splendora, Downtown Mall
Rating 7/10
This place felt nice and local but the ice cream was not particularly special.
New York
Ample Hills, Meatpacking District
Rating 7/10
Quite gelatinous texture
