Please the Palette is a subscription service that delivers a different fruit or vegetable to the subscriber from a local greengrocers every week with information on its origin, how best to prepare it and where to find it in their local area. The service is designed to promote people trying different and unusual food as well as raising the profile of local and independent greengrocers. This project started with the notion that industrial farming and mass production of a very small selection of fruit and vegetables is detrimental to the future of the crops, the working conditions of farmers, the environment and the nutritional content of the produce. Please the Palette aims to expand knowledge of a variety of fresh produce, promote local businesses and relieve pressure on over-farmed produce.
